Deviance

I think deviance is acceptable when its help the greater good. For example, the civil rights protests were people acting of deviance, but it was for a cause that would help many people. It was something that was problem for many, and the deviance allowed for a better society. Deviance that only affects a small amount of people is not acceptable.

I agree with Janelle that the behavior that came along with the civil rights was deviant, but it was effective. When Martin Luther King didn't give up his seat on the bus, he was clearly behaving deviantly, but he was able to make a huge differene in society. He was standing up for his rights and this caused many issues, but thanks to him, we now have equal rights in today's society.

I agree with Janelle on the greater good part. In the past some things that happened looked like a bad thing ended up good. People are sometimes blind to see the good. However over time people realized that they were dumb. Overall deviances are meant to be around.
