Gender Norms

Gender norms are a huge force in our society. Boys tend to act different arounds other guys rather than girls. Girls, vice versa, are the same way. We as guys tend to be more tougher sounding while girls may have the tendency to sound more innocent. Some male norms include the obvious masculinity, staying in control, and that work is very important. On the other hand, women are usually portrayed as the main care givers for children. As shown, gender norms are not taught but are natural to us all.

I agree with how gender roles can be natural. However, I feel like they are reinforced by society. It was interesting to watch the documentary to see how even a kid who thought he was a girl drifted towards the masculine activities. It was very informative to see this perspective. In my opinion, gender roles are inevitable and will always be there. They're just something that we face and handle and i don't feel like they cause a problem as long as they don't restrict anyone.

I agree with you. Gender norms are very important in society. Males and females have different norms. Males are more masculine and tough when females are more innocent.
