Gender Roles
Gender roles play a huge controlling force in our society. First of all, numerous shows of television portray men as being strong and tough and girls as being fragile. Girls are supposed to be weak, emotional and skinny, while men are supposed to be unemotional, and built. If a man likes "feminine" things then he is teased or bullied.

I see what you mean by television. I notice how television portrays men and women. They do have different traits. Women are feminine and men are masculine. The separation in gender is seen by having the appearance of a male or a female. I think the genders could be a little controlling.
i agree that the media has a huge effect on gender roles. Every character on tv is almost like a huge stereotype
