Harlow's Experiments
Harry Harlow had some interesting ideas to help us understand the behaviors of the younger generation but i don't think that these experiments should ever be redone. A monkey needs a real mother to start off it's life with, not some fake cloth cover wire contraption. And the way he scared that little creature was so cruel. no one likes to experience the feeling of fear.

I agree with you. Seeing that poor monkey get scared was so sad. It seemed so cruel to have to make the monkey live its life in solitude and then scare the crap out of it just for science. I felt so bad for all the animals involved in his experiments.
i agree with Abby. It's very important for any animal to have its mother and a wire craft simply is not enough. We learned that in order for it to live a healthy life it needs contact with others, so why repeat it? We know what we know and that should be enough. I say the monkeys were scared enough. While we learned a lot, I don't think it was worth it.
These experiments need to be more thought out and make sure not to effect the monkeys psychologically or physically, one being equal with the other. These monkeys dont "choose" to participate in stuff that we think is important we force them to do it, so to scrap a stupid experiment together just on the sole purpose to find out the same info someone can find by observation is rediculous.
