Cultures

In my opinion I believe the Yanomamo culture is similar is some aspects to our american culture. First, they are very sexist and all men believe they are superior. In some cases here, the american culture can act the same way. Overall, both cultures seem to be similar in a way that they both have adapted to their surroundings well. We have relied on technology for a long time now. They on the other hand have used their surrounding to their advantage in finding food, shelter, and many other resources.

I agree with some of this but I think that machuguenga are much more similar to Americans because they have the most similar morals and ideals to Americans. They also keep pets and have more serious marriages like Americans.

I would agree that yanomamo are similar to americans in some ways. However, i think that the veiw on sexism is a bit extreme because it is not generally acceptable by society for a man to abuse a women anywhere. As far as our dependance on technolagy i feel we are compleatly different. I say this because americans are so used to only being consumers that they could never survive without te help of other producers. as for the yanomami they rely on some technology but are compleatly relient on themselves to provide food.
