Electoral College

Although it may appear like the electoral college is complicating things; we can't just get rid of it. Even though it may make things a little more complicated it keeps the presidential election orderly. While this sounds contradictory, it's not. We've had the electoral college for hundreds of years and there has not been a major problem with who will become president. Why change what already works? They shouldn't complain about it being more complicated because government within itself is a very complicated process. It's the safety net and I believe we will always need it to stay secure.

I have to agree with this post the most. If people think what we have is already over-complicating things, one can only imagine the complications that set after we destroy what we have and build a new system. It may create minor controversies among people, but it's nothing to get worked up about. They merely provide a much more professional and political decision process that the common people can not be in charge of. There are people out there that vote for silly things and unprepared people for president. The Electoral College is what prevents there votes from being victorious.

I agree with what youre saying. If the electoral college hasn't caused any harm or messed things up for us, we should not want to change it. Things have clearly worked out in the past so this will help us in the future. We shouldn't look to change things just because people don't understand it.
