Cruel and Unusual?
I do think that the 8th amendment needs to be more specific because anything essentially be considered cruel and/or unusual punishment depending on how you look at it. Its very opinion based. It needs to be something more measurable almost. There needs to be specific guidlines. For example, a person cant be arrested for solely saying "f off" to a cop, the person needed to have literally threatened the officer's life in order for the officer to arrest that person. Again its a broad topic, but at least with more specific guidelines it protects the citizens more, in my opinion.

I agree with Janelle, that the 8th Amendment needs to be further defined. It makes it much more difficult, specifically in court and legal situations, to determine whether or not a situation is supporting or going against the 8th Amendment. We need more instruction to follow. It will keep us safer and hopefully prevent more things like this happening.
I agree with Janelle because I also think cruel and unusual punishment totally depends on how people see things. So the amendment does need to be further defined so we can all try to look at it the same way, making it easier to make a decision regarding the case.
I agree with Janelle , the government needs to be very specific about what situstions you can be arrested for and such. They make laws to protect us , not use it agaisnt us.
