Cruel or Unusual

Lets say you talk "out of turn" or show up late. Now you have a punishment of sitting in a room silently and you can't do work. Detentions are an unusual punishment to me. Maybe not so cruel but I don't like it. I think getting the paddle is a very cruel and unusual punishment. But luckily we don't have that punishment, at school or anywhere else. I don't think the death punishment is cruel and unusual if the criminal was a murderer.

Mr. Falcon Fallico, I tend to agree with you, sadly. The paddle is a terrible punishment. The death penalty almost seems fair if that someone took some other(s) life. Detentions, also are an unusual punishment. In death by fire, Todd seemed to have deserve his sentence. The only way he wouldnt is if he was truly innocent which i could believe is still up in the air. bye

What if a jury decided that someone was guilty when they truly were innocent, then the death sentence is extremely cruel because you can never take that back, once they're dead they aren't coming back.
