Freedom of Speech

I don't think there should be any limitations whatsoever on freedom of speech. To be quite honest, I don't think there are as it is. I think the limitations that exist are not set by our government, but instead the people themselves. Many people get offended at certain words or phrases. None of these are illegal or unlawful. It is the listener's personal decision to take offense to whatever is said. This then sets the example for what the next person should take offense to and so on. I don't think there are or ever should be government limitations on freedom of speech. It's all up to whoever hears it.

I do agree with this. however someone higher up has somehting to do with the limitations on speech. the reason i say this is because if it were just up to people to decide what was offensive and whatnot, tv wouldnt be censored. neither would the internet and everything else in our society. it is censored to make accomodations to not offend people, but it is essentially enforced by someone else.
