Quarter 2, Week 3: Wal-Mart

This week, you will be watching a documentary on Wal-Mart.  After viewing the documentary, do you think that Wal-Mart is "bad" for America's economy, or has it "fairly" become a successful company in America's capitalist system?  Explain.

Businesses that large are monopolies, and are bad for our economy. Although their prices are sometimes lower than other stores, these low costs give decrease our living standards. The company doesn't do anything for comunities, but takes a lot.

I think walmart is good for the economy because some people cannot afford to live in this extremely wealthy economy. however i do not agree with how they are able to set their prices so low due to the neglection of their employees and their employees benefits. i think it is unethical and there should be another alternative in order to obtain these low prices without hurting their employees.

Walmart never does anything good. First they will force their way into town avoiding permission of the people. if this doesnt work they will go somewhere else and draw buisness out of town. Once they are a stablished they become a parisite. They will destroy all surrounding small buisness followed by leaving many jobless. When these people look for jobs they are forced to go to walmart where they will get low pay and useless healthcare. In other words all things considered wallmart sucks and can destroy a community.

In this situation, I just believe it sucks for Americans who have to work at Walmart. They have to sell cheap crap from China that's made for sixty cents. And when its shipped over to the united states, they charge twenty bucks got it. They just don't scan our economy but others by paying the factory workers less than three dollars a day. No one wins with Walmart. they are simply a scam to the American and foreign economies.
