I do not think the 1% should be forced to financially support the 99%. The people with the most money earned that money and it wouldn't be fair to take it away from them. Although I do not think it should be up to the 1% to give people money, I do think they should, at some degree, give their money to charities and people in need, but it should not be forced on them.

One percent of people in America would have their wealth. Your idea is right that the one percent should be able to keep their money. They have worked hard to have so much money with them. To split the money is helpful. This way the people with less money can live more healthier. Disease could be less of a problem. The people can work together at appropriate rates.
