1%

The 1% is not obligated to financially assist the 99%. This doesn’t mean they shouldn’t, but if you earn your money or even just inherit it, it is your money. I think they should feel obligated to assist their fellow Americans but it is not up to us how the 1% spends their money. If it was the 99%’s choice, there would be a lot more equal distribution of wealth. Based on the fact that these wealthy people in essence choose who is elected to office by using their money, it is unlikely that we will soon see any change when it comes to laws about this sort of thing. Politics are sadly too controlled by what the 1% provides to work against them in this way.

I agree. It's their money and they have the right to decide what they spend that money on. If they want to volunteer to give up their money to help the other 99%, then more power to them.

I agree, the 1% should create jobs and get the economy flowing, but they should not just give money away. At some point that money was earned and having your money taken from you is unjust. Morally the 1% should donate money and support our country but they are not obligated to do so.
