I don't think that America should stray from the free market system. I think that people become afraid whenever a country is in a recession and so many people seek immediate answers. The recession that our country is just now coming out of was a bad one but I don't believe that we should change the entire structure of our nation. A capitalist society allows people the most freedom and also it is very competitive. But no one ever said a little competition was a bad thing. I think the US thrives off this competitive nature and it is one of the main reasons why we have been so successful. Without the free market, our country would not be near as prosperous as we already are.

I agree. People just love to point fingers and seem heroic for coming up with a poor solution. And if we're coming out of a recession, how would changing the system help anything at all? Why not just wait until we get completely settled to figure something like that out. Same thing with the competition part; it's just how we've worked in the past. Plus competition is human nature, not just American, so I think many other countries could prosper off of it as well.

I agree with this because like Kira said the recession that we're coming out of is bad, but really it just helps us learn what went wrong so we can work on those aspects.
