The Story of Stuff

I thought this video was very eye opening. It is amazing how wasteful we really are and how most of the things we buy end up in the trash within months of buying it. Although this video is eye opening, I do not think this is going to change for a very long time. Things like Black Friday cause Americans to go out and spend even more and waste even more. Until we can realize how much we waste and take action, things will never change.

I also thought it was really surprising but true that most of what we buy just ends up in the trash after only a few months of buying it and I realized I've also done this. I think unless people are directly harmed by their wasteful habits they won't do anything to change.

The fact that 99% of the stuff we buy goes into the trash, is unbelievable. I cant imagine that fact could possibly be true within my household. It just doesnt make sense. With that being said, i also was excited to hear that statistic. Also, people are too stubborn in this day and age to change things that work for them, so its true that something absurd or direct will have to take place in order for people to change
