I think that the 1% should pay more in taxes to help the rest of the country. The top 1% holds about 40% of the money and that doesn't seem fair to the rest of the people. Although they have worked hard for this money they should give a decent ammount back. It isn't fair that a middle-class American should pay the same ammount of taxes as someone who makes billions a year. The top 1% live very comfortably now and if they give up some more of their money it won't really affect them because they are so rich. The government should take out a percentage of everyone's earnings so the rich pay more and the poor pay less.

I agree with brian, he makes good examples of realistic options of how the wealthy should help. I don't know how politicians could carry out these laws while still having rich supporters but it is good in the idea sense.
I agree it really come down to the fact that no one needs millions of dollars.No one needs to live in huge mansions and own ten cars. I think the government should raise the 1%'s taxes because the money then could flow back into the economy by improving our education systems and infrastructure, making america a better place to live for everyone!
