I think the most significant event of 2011 was declaring the end of the war. America has been in the Iraq War for so long and ending it I think did a lot for our country. Thousands of people have lost thier lives because of it but by ending the war, troops are now coming home. We are not in their business anymore, families are reuniting and hopefully people will feel safer and better knowing a war is over and thier loved ones are coming home.

I agree. It's a good thing to see all the troops coming home. Families are being reunited again since the war has finally come to an end.
