I think that there were many significant events in the year of 2011. The main event in my opinion would have to be the killing of Osama Bin Laden. We have been looking for him for so long and we finally killed him. I acctualy heard fireworks outside. Now U.S. citizens can feel much safer. The war in Iraq ended shortly after.

The death of Osama Bin Laden was important. But just because he died doesn't meant there isn't someone ready to fill his place. His death did bring some peace to our country especially those who were significantly impacted by 9/11.
