2011 Another one bites the dust..
I think the most significant event in 2011 was Osama Bin Laden being killed. It was a significant step for America in stopping Al Queda and really showed that America wouldn't put up with terrorism. By him being killed it removed the threat that he presented against our country since he not only stood as a leader for terrorism but also a symbol of it.

I agree that this is a very significant event of 2011. The killing of Osama Bin Laden did not solve every problem but it did help our country feel a lot better. We have some of our pride and well being back knowign that he is dead. Now hopefully we can start working on our own domestic problems.
