Obama's Optimist Speech

President Obama was somewhat accurate on what he said in his State of the Union address. One very inaccurate statement he made was "This generation of heroes has made the United States safer and more respected around the world". This is a blatant lie. The United States is looked down upon because we are constantly in conflicts with other countries. Other than he had good points about flaws in current laws, but had no solutions. He didn't talk about any touchy subjects such as SOPA. His speech was just an attempt to promote himself for re-election. He went up as an optimist because presidents who give optimist speeches have a higher rate of being re-elected.

I completely agree nothing he said led to any of his own policies he just stayed neutral so he didn't offend anyone so he will get reelected. He played it safe forsure

Yeah, I'd have to agree. It was quite obnoxious that he didn't include anything about SOPA. He was targeted for much of the act and then decides to just ignore it? Maybe because the government decided to act upon upon some websites regardless of the bill's passing or not. I also agree that much of the speech was to promote himself for re-election.

Yeah i agree, president Obama was too neutral. His speech was just a campaign for re-election. he should have really stated what he thought for the state of the union adress rather than just campaigning for himself.
