State of the Union Address

I think Obama's assessment of the US was accurate, but easier said then done. The top 1% should pay higher taxes, students should be required to stay in school until age 18, and Washington D.C. is broken. In theory, Obama's ideas would be beneficial to the economy, but we would most likely still be spending more money than saving or putting toward the national debt. Even if we raise taxes for the top 1% of America, we still need to decrease our spending to have a chance at lowering the debt a little.

I believe the top 1% of americans should pay higher taxes like Obama. But, I also agree that doing that isn't going to get us out of debt and in order to lower our national debt we need to stop spending as much.

I agree with you that we need to decrease spending and try to fix the economy. What I don't agree with is making kids stay in school until they are 18. If kids were planning on dropping out at 16, forcing them by law to stay until they are 18 is just a waste of tax payer money.
